In 1998, the Education and Manpower Bureau approved the use of English as the medium of instruction in BPS in all subjects except Chinese Language, Chinese Literature, Chinese History, Putonghua and Physical Education (S1-S3). The school aims to cultivate a language rich environment conducive to the learning of English by employing two native-English speaking teachers and offering English literature from S1-7. Moreover, to implement the policy of biliteracy and trilingualism, the school has organized Chinese and English Extensive Reading Schemes, verse speaking, drama activities, writing competitions, debates, campus video, and exchange programmes with international schools and overseas secondary schools.
