Champion for the HSBC Young Financial Planner Competition 2007.

Several groups of our students joined the HSBC Young Financial Planner Competition in July 2007. On 3-7-07 HSBC gave participants a workshop and a case to work on. Participants handed in a proposal for the case study on 10-7-07. In late August the team of Business Studies students, formed by Wong Mei Sum, Lam Wing Yee, Chan Pui Yin and Au Man Man, was picked as one of the top ten groups among 532 teams from 167 schools and could get into the second round. These girls presented their proposal in front of a panel of judges to compete with the other 9 teams on 17-9-07. Then our team became one of the top 5 teams and could get into the final round, which was conducted in the form of an on-stage form presentation in which participants had to present to the audience and answer questions from judges. The bank arranged 2 workshops to train students’ presentation skill. Our team competed again on 3-11-07 and became the champion. They got a trophy and an award of $10,000. Each team member got a certificate from HSBC and a chance for job shadowing for 2 days at HSBC.
